Help us save more dogs and cats by fostering

Because Back the Blue Pet Rescue does not have a shelter, we rely solely on our foster home network to provide a safe and stable temporary home to get dogs and cats ready for adoption. The more people who open their homes for fostering, the more dogs we can save. It’s a rewarding way to give to our organization and it’s a critical part of what we do. Most importantly, it’s fun! For more information please contact our Foster Coordinator at or fill out the online Foster application.

We do have some simple requirements to become a foster:

  • You must be 21 years of age.
  • You will abide by your town’s leash law; you will never have a B.T.B.P.R. foster dog off-leash when outside a secured area.
  • You will return the animal to B.T.B.P.R. if you feel for any reason you can no longer foster him/her. You must not sell or otherwise rehome the animal, or transfer to an unapproved foster for any reason.
  • You are responsible for providing proper shelter, feeding, water, exercise, and humane treatment at all times for your foster animal.
