Help us save more dogs and cats by fostering

Because Back the Blue Pet Rescue does not have a shelter, we rely solely on our foster home network to provide a safe and stable temporary home to get dogs and cats ready for adoption. The more people who open their homes for fostering, the more dogs we can save. It’s a rewarding way to give to our organization and it’s a critical part of what we do. Most importantly, it’s fun! For more information please contact our Foster Coordinator at  foster@backthebluepetrescue.org or fill out the online Foster application.

We do have some simple requirements to become a foster:

  • You must be 21 years of age.
  • You will abide by your town’s leash law; you will never have a B.T.B.P.R. foster dog off-leash when outside a secured area.
  • You will return the animal to B.T.B.P.R. if you feel for any reason you can no longer foster him/her. You must not sell or otherwise rehome the animal, or transfer to an unapproved foster for any reason.
  • You are responsible for providing proper shelter, feeding, water, exercise, and humane treatment at all times for your foster animal.
